Babson Park, FL - The No. 5 Webber Warriors finished the 2024 regular season with a clean sweep over Sun Conference opponent, Florida Memorial. The Warriors finished strong with a five-game win streak, as they move to 9-1 in SUNC play. Â
Webber got on the board first as the Lions forfeited their fives, giving Andrea Padilla and Mariah Clements a win. Â
Nadia Reid and Kiersten Tisdale took a straight-set win at the twos, giving the Warriors a 2-0 lead. The duo took set one convincingly (21-13), before holding their opponents to just six points in set two. Â
Kendall Steinert and Leyni Young followed suit with a quick win at the four's spot. The two took set one smoothly, but the Lions battled in set two. Both sides traded points, before the Warriors scored three straight to secure the win for the Warriors. Â
Lily Arnold and Janna Morrissey extended the Warriors' lead to four as they took down the Lions' number one duo. The top-seeded pair for Webber took set one 21-8. The Lions rallied in set two, but the Warriors were too much for the Lions, taking the 21-19 victory.Â
Delanie Johnson and Abigail Baxter ensured the sweep for the Warriors with a win at the threes (21-12, 21-17). Â
With this, Webber wraps up their regular season with a 10-8 record, including eight Sun Conference wins. The Warriors will head to Bradenton, FL to battle for their 3rd consecutive SUNC tournament championship as they prepare for AVCA nationals. Â Â
