Warriors Break Out The Brooms In The 5-0 Win Over The Bobcats

Babson Park, FL - The No. 5 Webber Warriors continued their trek through the Sun Conference with a sweep over St. Thomas. With this, WIU claims their eighth straight conference win, as they move to 8-1 in SUNC play.  

Nadia Reid and Keirsten Tisdale put the Warriors on the board first with a straight set win at the twos. The duo held their opponents to just five points in set one, before winning set two 21-10. Kendall Steinert and Leyni Young followed suit with a quick win at the fours spot (21-12, 21-12). 

Webber's threes pair sealed the win as they completed a 2-0 win. Delanie Johnson and Abigail Baxter allowed 12 total points in two sets.  

Lily Arnold and Janna Morrissey extended the Warriors' lead to four as they took down the Bobcats' number one duo. The top-seeded pair for Webber took set one 21-16 before taking the second one 21-17. 

WIU's five seed had to battle from behind after dropping set one 21-11. Vivianne Ciancio and Anna Morton took set two 21-15 to force a tiebreaker, which they won 15-13. 

Webber will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 29th as they celebrate their seniors in their final home game of the season. WIU will take on Florida Memorial at 12 PM.
