Gulf Shores, AL– The No. 5 Webber Warriors added two more wins as they took down Sun Conference opponents (RV) William Carey and Mobile. With this, the Warriors move to 8-8 on the year and 4-1 in SUNC play.
The Crusaders struck first with a win at the twos.
Abigail Baxter and Delanie Johnson evened the score with a win at the fours (21-16, 21-14). Webber's top-seeded Janna Morrissey and Lily Arnold gave the Warriors the lead with a straight set win (21-16, 21-13).
Leyni Young and Kendall Steinert secured the win for Webber with a 21-13, 21-15 win at the three spot. Anna Morton and Vivianne Ciancio battled to take set one 22-20 before closing out game one with a 21-18 win.
Nadia Reid and Kiersten Tisdale continued their reign as they took down Mobile's number two duo. Webber's pair only allowed eight points for their opponents in set one. The Rams battled through set two, but Reid and Tisdale came out with the 23-21 win.
Abigail Baxter and Delanie Johnson extended the lead for the Warriors with a win at the four seed. WIU's pair came from behind as they dropped set one. Webber rallied in set two to take it 21-15 before taking the third 15-13.
Mobile got on the board with a win at the three seed.
Janna Morrissey and Lily Arnold secured the win for the Warriors as they took down the Ram's number one duo. WIU's top pair dropped set one (17-21) before battling back to even the score. Morrissey and Arnold took the third set swiftly as they kept the Rams to just six points.
Vivianne Ciancio and Anna Morton rounded out the lineup for the Warriors with a win as the five seed. WIU's duo took set one 21-8 before the Rams took set two 22-20. Ciancio and Morton finished off with a 15-11 win in set three to finish off the weekend in Gulf Shores, AL
