Tavares, FL – The #5 Webber International women's beach volleyball team notched their first two wins of the season with a sweep over St. Andrews and a 4-1 victory over Truett McConnell. With this, Webber moves to 2-5 on the season, and 2-1 in Sun Conference play.
In game one versus the Knights, each Warriors pair won including three in straight sets. Webber's two's pair of Nadia Reid and Keirsten Tisdale took set one 21-17 before the Knights flipped the score to force a tiebreaker. The Warriors dominated the third set with a 15-7 win. In the four seed, Delanie Johnson and Abigail Baxter dropped set one 21-19 before battling back to take set two 21-16. Both pairs traded points in the third set before Webber came away with the 15-8 win and a clean sweep.
In the second game, the Warriors grabbed straight set wins at all pairs except for the one seed. Janna Morrissey and Lily Arnold held that spot for Webber and dropped set one 22-20. The two fought hard in the second set to even the score 1-1 before the Bears took the last set 15-13.
Webber will be back to action on Friday, March 8th as they are set to host (RV) Southeastern and Warner. First game is set to start at 11:30 AM.
