KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 2, 2023) -
Chase Jackson and
Hunter Scott of the Webber International University men's lacrosse team swept Player of the Week honors for not only the Appalachian Athletic Conference, but all of the NAIA as well for their performances last week. The two were key factors in a 3-0 week for the Warriors in which they upset No. 4 Aquinas College.
Jackson earned Offensive Player of the Week after racking up seven goals and 15 assists for a total of 22 points in three games. He scored five goals in a dominant 19-10 victory over No. 4 Aquinas. Last year's Second-Team All-American selection was the lifeblood of the Warriors offense as he tallied seven points against Madonna and eight against Aquinas and Thomas More.
Scott was named the Defensive Player of the Week as he continues to lead Webber's defense. He won 46 of his 60 face off attempts last week and recorded a team-high 12 ground balls against both Madonna and No. 4 Aquinas.
Webber's schedule only gets tougher as it returns to conference action where the Warriors will first travel to No. 7 Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday March 4th at 2 p.m. They follow that up with yet another top-10 matchup as they battle No. 1 Reinhardt University just three days later on Tuesday, March 7th.
