BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 15, 2022) - The Webber International University women's beach volleyball team hosted Division-III Stevenson University in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday morning. It was a close match but ultimately the Warriors fell 3-2 to the traveling Mustangs.
WEBBER LINEUP:
STEVENSON 3, WEBBER 2:
- Cindy Garcia Penaloza and Lily Arnold won 21-16, 21-19 in the No. 1 seed.
- In the No. 2 seed, Montana-Rae Pelak and Bailey Sikkema fell in two sets, 21-14, 22-20.
- Wandaleen Harris and Sara Weisrock lost two close sets in the No. 3 seed, 21-17, 21-18.
- Jessica Terry and Kiersten Tisdale won 21-16, 22-20 in the No. 4 seed.
- The No. 5 seed of Brianda Valdez and Nadia Reid lost a tight three-set match, 19-21, 21-10, 15-11.
TEAM RECORDS: The loss for the Warriors makes them 6-3 overall for the season so far while the victory for the Mustangs improves them to 6-5 on the year thus far.
NEXT UP: The Warriors will now return to Sun Conference action when they host both St. Thomas University and Florida Memorial University on Saturday, March 19. Webber will first play the Bobcats at 11 a.m. before matching up against the Lions at 3 p.m. that same afternoon.
