TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (September 29, 2021) – The Webber International University women's soccer team defeated the Florida College Falcons, 2-0, Tuesday night in Temple Terrace, Florida. It was the final nonconference match of the 2021 season for the Warriors.
Â
It was a dominant offensive-showing from the Warriors (6-0-1 overall), as they outshot the Falcons (0-8-0) heavily, 32-4 in total shots and 15-1 in shots on target. The Webber defense stood strong only allowing the one shot on goal, only needing goalkeeper

Â
Junior
Domenica Pena would strike first for the Warriors in the 22nd minute for her sixth goal of the 2021 season, after a pass from
Emilie Velez to take the 1-0 lead. The only other goal in the match came in the 56th minute after a pass from
Versailles Clark found
Faith Cullen-Cooper to double the Warriors lead.
Â
"We are really proud of our group for the way they've performed during the first half of the season," said Head Coach
Erik Casterline. "With a lot of new pieces both on the pitch and within the staff, being able to make history for the program at such an early juncture in our time together is something to be proud of. We are also extremely aware that we play in one of the most competitive conferences in the NAIA and that things only get more difficult from here on out. We are excited for this challenge and to really test our progress as a program."
Â
The win for the Warriors keeps them undefeated heading into Sun Conference play. Webber hosts its Crooked Lake rivals, Warner University, for its conference-opener this Saturday, October 2, at 11 a.m. on the Warrior Grass Field. It will be the second time this season the two teams have matched up, as the first match ended in a 2-2 draw after two overtimes in Lake Wales, Florida.
