Women’s beach volleyball suffers first conference loss against rival Warner

BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 22, 2021) – The Webber International University women's beach volleyball team suffered its first Sun Conference loss of the season against its Crooked Lake rival Warner University, falling 3-2 at home to the Royals.

COACH'S CORNER: Webber's Head Beach Volleyball Coach Jessica Gehrke-Hauptmann said, "Over this past week our team has been battling through adversity with some injuries and we had to try out some new partnerships. It was a tough loss for us today and we will regroup as a team and prepare for the conference tournament this weekend."

TEAM RECORDS: Webber fell to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in The Sun Conference while Warner improved to 2-2 and 2-1 and earned what was only its second win against Webber in their last seven meetings. The Warriors still lead the all-time series between the two teams 8-4.

NEXT UP: Webber will host a scrimmage match against the State College of Florida at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, and then on Saturday, March 27, the Warriors will compete in The Sun Conference Championship Tournament.
