ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (February 9, 2021) – The Webber International University women's golf team competed at the World Golf Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division-II Flagler College on Monday, February 8, and Tuesday, February 9. It was the first tournament of the Spring 2021 season for the Warriors, and was held at the par-72, 6,049 -yard Slammer & Squire Golf Course.

As a team, Webber (368-357; 725) finished 14th out of 14 teams while
Hannah Revell and
Mary Varga both had their lowest rounds of the season during round two. Additionally,
Jordan Mansker finished with an unprecedented 24-stroke improvement from round one to round two.
Revell (79-75; 154) shot her third straight round of 79 to open the 2020-21 season in round one before shooting three-over-par in round two. She improved from a tie for 28th after round one to tying for 15th out of 72 individuals after round two. She also finished the tournament tied for fourth in par-3 scoring (3.00, E), and was tied for seventh in pars with 23.
Next was
Lucia Rodriguez Zapico (83-85: 168) in 55th place, followed by
Katy Hill (96-93; 189), Varga (110-104; 214), and Mansker (161-137; 298).
Head Coach
Stuart Winsby said, "It was a tough week for everyone. With only having one tournament last Fall, we haven't had very much competitive experience, but we will continue to work on our mistakes and get ready for the next tournament."
Next up for the Webber women's golf team will be the Oldfield Intercollegiate on Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28, hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort at the Oldfield Golf Clubhouse in Okatie, South Carolina.
