BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 6, 2021) – The Webber International University men's beach volleyball teams had their top seeded teams meet in the finals during in the second edition of the beach invitational tournament this past Saturday.

The pairing of graduate student
Chris Ludwig and sophomore Gunter Perea took on the second seeded team of junior
Wesley Blazek and freshman
Tinaishe Ndavazocheva in a very contested final, after going through their preliminary pools and taking on Warner in the playoff rounds.

This is the second time both teams have met each other in the final rounds, with Ludwig/Perea coming out on top.

There were 15 teams that participated in the event as part of the newly formed beach schedule that is being implemented with the intention of consolidating the first men's beach conference in the country. Webber's teams clearly dominated the event, although a few of the top players were on the disabled list due to illness and injury.

Some of the other notable teams were juniors
Daniel Suarez and Luiz G. Pereira that lost in the semifinals, as well as freshman
Jack Sukeena that paired up with alumni
Steven Bartlett to make it all the way to the other semi-final match.

"This is our second year hosting the event and we are happy we had a great turnout, as well as a very high level of play from our guys", said Head Coach
Carlos Jimenez. "Some of the top teams are showing a lot more consistency within their play as well as chemistry on the court and displaying a very competitive attitude at these events".
