BABSON PARK, Fla. (December 2, 2020) – For its second game in a row, the Webber International University women's basketball team will play at home in The Sun Conference Women's Basketball Game of the Week. This time around, the Warriors will host the Bobcats of St. Thomas University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center.

Webber has kicked off its 2020-21 season with five straight wins to start the year. Each win so far this season for Webber has been by at least 12 points, including a 78-49 win over Thomas University two weeks ago (Nov. 19) in the TSC Game of the Week to move the Warriors to 2-0 in conference play so far.

St. Thomas, meanwhile, is the only other undefeated team in The Sun Conference other than the Warriors, checking in at 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play after defeating Florida Memorial University 83-78 on the road its last time out back on November 14.

"I think this game is our biggest test of the year this far," said Webber's Head Coach Grady Morrell. "St. Thomas has very good guard play and tough post players. I can't wait to see who we are on Thursday."

Last year, Webber fell on the road at St. Thomas by only two points (77-75) on November 23 before bouncing back in the Spring and defeating the Bobcats 69-53 at home on January 23. Additionally, the win for Webber over St. Thomas last season started the Warriors' five-game winning streak that helped propel Webber into the No. 4 seed in the conference postseason tournament.

This year, the Warriors are led by senior Paris Copeland, who currently averages 18.4 points per game. Next is junior Amaya Small at 16.2 points per game, followed by another junior, Dasia Wandick, at 10.2 points per game, senior LeAndra Franklin at 9.8 points per game, and sophomore Samantha Pacheco with 6.7 points per game.

Copeland and Small are third and fourth, respectively, in points per game among all players in The Sun Conference while Small is first in the league in field goal percentage (.585 percent) and Franklin is first in both steals per game (3.80) and in assists per game (6.20).

As a team, Webber leads The Sun Conference in scoring defense (56.40 points per game), scoring margin (+19.60), 3-point field goal percentage (.340 percent), total rebounds (240) and in offensive rebounds per game (20.40).
