Warriors Fall to Royals in Final Regular Season Game

Lake Wales, FL- The Webber International Women's Basketball team nearly erased a halftime deficit, but Warner held on down the stretch for a 54-47 victory in SUN Conference action on Saturday in Lake Wales.

The Royals set the tone early, jumping out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 27-20 advantage into the break in a defensive battle that saw both teams shoot just over 30 percent from the floor. Webber continued to chip away after halftime, using its best stretch of the afternoon in the third quarter—an 18-14 edge—to pull within 41-38 heading to the fourth.

With the Warriors within one possession late, Warner came up with timely stops and free throws in the final period, winning the fourth 13-9 to close out the seven-point decision. Webber finished 19-of-60 from the field and 0-of-7 from three, while Warner hit 5-of-16 from deep—one of the key differences in the tight contest.

Jaiden Ross led Webber with a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds), including seven offensive boards, while Camryn Patterson, Danshelle Mickel, and Taleah Jones added six points apiece. The Warriors also got a lift from their reserves, outscoring Warner's bench 18-9, and defensively Webber totaled nine steals.

Warner was paced by Aleyna Sherman with 13 points (3-for-6 from three) and four assists, while Chanelle Harrison posted a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds). Webber moved to 13-14 (7-9 SUN), and Warner improved to 9-17 (4-11 SUN).
