BABSON PARK, Fla. (January 17, 2020) – At 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, in Brunswick, Georgia, the Webber International University women's basketball team will take on the College of Coastal Georgia in what has been named The Sun Conference's Women's Basketball Game of the Week.
Webber (10-8 overall, 4-4 The Sun Conference) will enter the matchup riding a three-game TSC winning streak while Coastal Georgia (11-5, 6-2) has won four games in a row in the conference, including most recently a 62-39 win over Warner University on the road on Thursday. The Mariners' two league losses have been at home to No. 1 Southeastern University and on the road vs. Johnson & Wales University.
Webber currently finds itself in a tie for fifth place in The Sun Conference Women's Basketball standings as the Warriors are hoping to make a push for the postseason for the first time since their 2015-16 campaign. The Mariners, meanwhile, are currently in a three-way tie for second place in the TSC standings, two games ahead of the Warriors.
The first two games of the Warriors' current three-game winning streak came on the road at Johnson & Wales (W 74-56), which had not lost a TSC game until that point, and at Warner (W 70-53). Webber most recently defeated Thomas University at home by a score of 61-46 on Thursday evening.

During the Warriors' current three-game winning streak, Webber has held its opponents to under 56 points in all three contests while also winning by a margin of at least 15 points all three times. Additionally, the 46 points allowed against Thomas were a new season-low in points allowed during conference games for Webber.
In all of The Sun Conference, Webber is currently fourth in both scoring offense per game at (68.39) and in scoring defense per game (63.39). The Warriors are also second in the league in field goal percentage defense (0.362 percent) and are third in total rebounds per game (43.94 rebounds) and in assists per game (14.28 assists). Coastal Georgia, meanwhile, is third in the conference in scoring defense per game (62.25) and in field goal percentage defense (0.363 percent), and is fifth in field goal percentage offense (0.404 percent).

LeAndra Franklin leads the conference in steals per game (3.50 steals) and is fourth in assists per game (3.67 assists) while sophomore
Taniya Patrick is second in blocks per game (2.22 blocks), third in field goal percentage (0.542 percent), and is fifth in rebounds per game (8.78 rebounds).
