PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (April 16, 2019) – In its final action of the 2018-19 season, the Webber International University women's golf team finished in seventh place at the 2019 Sun Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72, 5,092-yard PGA National Fazio Course. Additionally, freshman Hannah Revell earned recognition on the All-Sun Conference Team.

Webber (331-343-328) shot two of its three lowest single-round scores of the year during rounds one and three to finish with a three-day total of 1,002, which was good for the Lady Warriors' best three-round score of the entire season. In all, Webber finished 21 strokes behind Thomas University (327-326-328; 981) in sixth place and was 74 strokes in front of last-place Ave Maria University (359-355-362; 1,076).

The third-round score of 328 was Webber's second lowest single-round score of the season as a team while its first-round score of 331 is now its third lowest.

"I am proud of our team," said Head Golf Coach Nancy Nichols. "The Sun Conference is the most competitive women's golf conference in the NAIA. It takes discipline and determination to hang in there with this level of play."

The No. 1 team in the NAIA, Keiser University (302-298-293), improved its score each day and came from behind to win the tournament with a total score of 893. It was the Seahawks' fourth TSC tournament championship in five years. No. 2 SCAD Savannah (300-310-294) finished in second place with a score of 904.

Revell (77-78-77), Webber's lone all-conference honoree, finished as the Lady Warriors' low scorer in eight of their nine tournament this season. She finished with a three-round total of 232 to tie for 12th place out of 43 this week at the TSC Championship, and including the three rounds at the championship, Revell finished the season shooting 15 of her 24 rounds in the 70's with eight top-13 finishes overall. Revell, who owns each of Webber's four lowest three-round scores this season, shot 232 for the second time this year, which is tied for the third-lowest three-round score of any Webber women's golfer in 2018-19.

Next was senior Lindsey Ritchey (80-79-80), who finished in 22nd place with a combined score of 239 at the TSC Championship and finished as the Lady Warriors' second-lowest finisher for the first time all year. Her final score of 239 was also good for her lowest such score as a senior, and was the sixth lowest for all of Webber women's golf this year.

"Hannah [Revell] finishing 12th as a freshman is impressive, and Lindsey Ritchey scoring her best three-round tournament is also a nice way to finish as a senior," added Nichols."

Fellow-senior Shelby Hart (86-90-84) shot her lowest round of the tournament during round three and finished in 33rd place with a score of 260 while junior Lucia Rodriguez Zapico (88-96-87) also shot her best during round three and completed her first three-round tournament of the season to finsih in 36th place with a score of 271. Freshman Mary Varga (125-120-118; 363) improved during each day of the tournament much like she has all season long.

Graduate Assistant Coach Bryan Bessinger said, "The Lady Warriors played great today, improving from the previous day. Our senior Lindsey Ritchey had her best ever total score in a tournament at 80-79-80, in her last ever collegiate tournament no less. Our freshman Hannah Revell continued to play well as she has all season and finished tied 12th and received all-conference team honors."

The tournament winner was Keiser's Samantha Fuller (73-75-72; 220), who won the tournament by two strokes and was also named The Sun Conference's Player of the Year. Fuller, the No. 1 ranked player in all of the NAIA, also won what was her sixth tournament medalist honor of the season.

With their season now over, the Lady Warriors will have to wait and see if Hannah Revell receives a berth into the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship as an individual or not.
