Beach volleyball wins three straight at home

BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 20, 2019) – The Webber International University beach volleyball team won twice on Tuesday, March 19, defeating NCAA Division-III Stevenson University twice by a score of 3-2 before coming back the next day on Wednesday, March 20, to dominate its Crooked Lake rival Warner University 5-0 to cap off an undefeated two days on the Webber Campus Beach Volleyball Courts.

In all, Webber got back to .500 overall on the season at 7-7 thanks to the three wins, and the Warriors also improved to 4-1 overall in The Sun Conference. Webber is now the only team in The Sun Conference with at least one win over all four other teams in the conference under its belt so far this season.

"We are very proud of our girls for bringing home a 5-0 win versus Warner," spoke Volunteer Assistant Beach Volleyball Coach Michelle Calderon "The effort and discipline that the girls showed today was definitely sweep worthy. We continue to improve every day and we are very excited to travel to Alabama this weekend, hopefully bringing home a couple of more wins."

Next Up:  Webber will travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to compete in the Huntingdon College Beach Tournament on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23. The Warriors will battle Principia College at 1 p.m. and NCAA Division-I Mercer University at 3 p.m. on Friday before coming back the next day on Saturday to take on Mercer again at 8 a.m. followed by the host school, Huntingdon, at 12 p.m.
