BABSON PARK, Fla.—The Webber women's beach team hosted St. John's River State College on Wednesday for their last home game of the 2017 season. The Lady Warriors swept the Vikings 5-0, giving them their 6
th sweep of the year and an 8-2 record at home.
Katie Schueman and
Laura Embry were the #5 seed for the Lady Warriors. They faced off against Tori English and Dani Jaramillo from SJRSC. Schueman and Embry gave Webber their first win of the day, beating the Vikings 2-0 (21-12, 21-7).
Amber Lake and
Hannah Tannone were matched up at the #4 seed with Courtney Chappell and Jen Ramos. Lake and Tannone swept the Vikings in straight sets, 21-9, 21-12.
Michelle Calderon and
Brianna Baez were at the #3 seed for Webber and faced Olivia Brady and Yoally Figueroa. The pair gave Webber their 3
rd win in straight sets, 21-16, 21-5, sealing the match for the Lady Warriors.
Carlee Baxter and
Tessa Colden took down Edmary Basco and Kaedi Gillman at the #2 position (21-5, 21-7).
Alex Spadaro and
Nikki McDaniel gave the Lady Warriors their final win of the day, facing off against Chappell and Ramos from SJRSC. They took down the Vikings 2-0 (21-6, 21-7).
This win completed the regular season for the Lady Warriors. They finish the year with a record of 9-5, with their only losses coming from NCAA Division I teams. Webber will travel to Siesta Key Beach this weekend to finish out their season at the 2017 Small College National Championship. Go Warriors!!!
