Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla.—Women's basketball took on St. Thomas University in a Sun Conference matchup tonight. With a 14-point lead halfway through the 3
rd quarter, the Lady Warriors gave way to the Bobcats, losing 60-67.
Victoria Baggett continues to lead the Lady Warriors' offense, scoring 14 points.
Quanthavia Stalworth contributed 11 points, as well as 3 blocks and 5 rebounds.
Jakia Davis led on the defensive end with 13 rebounds and also added 5 points for the night.
Katie Rienas was a spark off the bench for St. Thomas with a game-high 22 points. Desanta' Jordan added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats.
The Lady Warriors jumped out to an early lead in the 1
st quarter off a three pointer by Baggett, thirty seconds into the game. They were able to extend the lead finishing the 1
st quarter 19-8. The 2
nd quarter was much of the same story, with the Lady Warriors continuing to lead going into the half 34-22.
St. Thomas came out of the locker room with a spark, taking their first lead of the game late in the 3
rd quarter after eating up a 14-point deficit to take the lead, 46-45. The Lady Warriors were able to come back and finish the quarter with a score of 47-46. The offense for St. Thomas took off in the 4
th quarter leading to a 60-67 loss for the Lady Warriors.
The Lady Warriors fall to 6-13 overall and 1-6 in Sun Conference play. They will return to action on Saturday, January 21
st at 7 pm, traveling to Lakeland, Florida to take on the powerful TSC foe, #8 Southeastern University, who sits atop The Sun Conference with an undefeated 9-0 record and a 17-0 overall record. Live video will be provided by Southeastern via Stretch Internet, for more info
