Â
Set one was tight early on, with Florida College grabbing the first three points of the match. After battling back and going point for point, the Warriors would get some separation in the middle of the match, going up 17-14. The Falcons would battle back and take a late 20-19 lead with scrappy and determined play, but the Warriors used a 6-2 run to finish up the match. Tessa Colden and
Nikki McDaniel had 6 kills each in the set.Â
Â
Set two started as a back and forth battle early. Each team stayed within 1-2 points until the Warriors used a 4-0 run to go up 16-2 on the serve of
Brianna Baez. The distance would stay at that until the Warriors hit 20, then they pulled away to win the set by 7.
Tessa Colden and
Katie Schueman had 5 and 3 kills to pace the Warriors offense, respectively.Â
Â
The Falcons defense kept them in set three early. A common theme of the night, Florida College was able to keep rallies going and earn points throughout. However, a blistering 7 kills in the set by
Tessa Colden, coupled with an equally as strong Warrior defense, would allow the Warriors to pull away in the middle of the match and cruise to the end.
Katie Schueman also added her final 3 kills of the match to help seal the victory. Â
