BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University women's basketball hosted its eight-consecutive home game, Monday night, welcoming Keiser University. After going down by double-digits in the first half, the Warriors mounted a second half comeback that fell just short as the Seahawks would go on to win, 65-62.

Mar'Lisa Braxton once again led the Warriors, scoring 13 points and grabbing a team-high five rebounds. Deslyn Applewhaite chipped in 13 points of her own, while Jessica Colson was hot from beyond the arch, going 4-7.

The first quarter was neck and neck, with both teams playing well on offense. After the first five minutes, the Warriors trailed Kesier by only two points. The Seahawks would push their lead to five, but back-to-back triples from Colson would eventually allow Webber International to go ahead, 16-15. Keiser was able to hit a last-second three to retake the lead at 20-18.

The two teams stayed hot to open the second quarter but, turnovers would disrupt the Warriors tempo. Braxton would score six of Webber International's eight points in the quarter, four from the free throw line. Keiser was able to convert four Webber International turnovers into nine points, sending the Warriors into half time trailing, 38-26.

Webber International came out of half time with a renewed sense of urgency. The Warriors opened the third quarter with a 7-0 run to cut the Seahawk lead to just five points. Keiser responded with two three pointers of their own to jump ahead by 11. Webber International was undeterred, scoring the next 11 points to tie the game up at 44-44. The Seahawks were able to close out another quarter with a late three, putting Keiser ahead of the Warriors, 48-46, heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter saw Keiser push ahead, going up by as many as eight. Down six with a minute left the Warriors came to life.
