MIAMI, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors basketball team traveled to Miami to take on Ave Maria University Lady Gyrenes in the Semifinal round of the 2015 Sun Conference Women's Basketball Championship. The Lady Warriors collected the win over the defending Sun Conference Champions with a final score of 67-56.
 
The Lady Warriors showed up in Miami ready to play as they outscored the Lady Gyrenes in both the first half, 31-24, and second half, 36-32, to win the game, 67-56.
 
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: Shakeria Wilson with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals; Deslyn Applewhite with a double-double scoring 12 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals; Jessica Colson with 12 points and three rebounds; and Amber Ferguson had three blocks, one steal and three rebounds.
 
Webber's record improves to 22-6 overall and they will return to action tomorrow Saturday, February 28^th as they take on the winner of St. Thomas vs Thomas at 3:00 p.m.
