Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Warriors fought hard but ultimately fell to SUN foe St. Thomas 78-59 in a competitive conference matchup. Despite strong individual performances, Webber was unable to keep pace with the Bobcats' sharp shooting and balanced scoring.
Webber came out with energy, led by Neri Moreau, who knocked down an early three. However, St. Thomas established control with Maddie Scharrenberg hitting a trio of baskets, helping the Bobcats to a 15-12 lead after one.
The Warriors struggled offensively in the second quarter, shooting just 41.2% from the field and failing to get to the free-throw line. Meanwhile, St. Thomas found their rhythm from deep, draining four three-pointers in the quarter. Joey Delancy's presence inside was a difference-maker, grabbing 9 rebounds by halftime. The Bobcats took a 31-28 lead into the break.
Webber responded in the second half, hitting five three-pointers, but St. Thomas torched the defense, shooting 80% from beyond the arc (4-5). Scharrenberg remained hot, scoring 9 points in the quarter, while Madison Lippy's three-point accuracy helped the Bobcats extend their lead to 50-44.
St. Thomas closed out the game in dominant fashion, scoring 28 points in the final period and shooting 64.3% from the field. Webber struggled to maintain their offensive momentum, shooting just 33.3%, and went 0-3 from three-point range. The Bobcats capitalized on Webber's turnovers, leading to easy baskets and putting the game out of reach.
