BABSON PARK, Fla. – Former Warriors football player, Taylor Atwood, has found a new passion – Powerlifting. Since moving to Rochester MN, to work for IBM, the Florida native has become one of the top powerlifters in the United States. "As soon as I got the job at IBM, I met a few people here at Work Out World that told me I was pretty strong and they asked if I have ever tried Powerlifting," stated Atwood. Powerlifting is a sport comprised of three events – the bench press, squat, and deadlift. Atwood started training in October of last year for this sport.

Atwood won the first meet that he competed in. His determination to improve began with his association with Canadian strength coach, Jason Tremblay. His determination to improve paid off. Last week, Atwood captured a national title in the 163 – pound weight class at the USA Raw National Championships in Denver, and set a total pounds record in the process.

Up next for Atwood is some well-deserved rest. Next June he will travel to Finland to compete for the Raw World Championships.

"I would say my chances are very good for a world title next year," said Atwood. Atwood is a 2011 graduate of Webber International University.
