Lady Warriors Drop First Two Conference Matches

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors tennis team dropped their first two conference matches in the last two days. The first match was against SCAD in Orlando on March 19th and the second match was against Ave Maria on March 20th in Babson Park.
 
In their first match up against SCAD, the Lady Warriors were unable to post any points causing them to lose their first conference match of the season, 9-0. This reduced the Warriors overall record to 3-10 and 0-1 in the conference.  
 
The following day straight off their loss to SCAD the Lady Warriors took on another conference opponent, Ave Maria. It was clear that the Lady Warriors were not going down without a fight. Unfortunately the Lady Warriors were unable to make a clean sweep and lost the match to Ave, 5-4.
 
The match started with #1 Julija Stojkovska and Laura Nowak in doubles posting the first point for the Warriors, 8-3. Going into singles play the Lady Warriors were down 2-1. The winners in singles for the Lady Warriors were: #1 Julija Stojkovska, 6-3, 6-1; #2 Laura Nowak, 6-0, 6-1; and #3 Nathalia Chaddad, 6-3,6-0. This would give the Lady Warriors their four points in the match.
 
 The Lady Warriors record falls to 3-11 for the season and 0-2 in the conference.
 
The Lady Warriors will return to their home courts on March 23, when they host Oklahoma Baptist, 10:00 am.
