BABSON PARK, Fla. – On Saturday, at the WIU Campus Courts in Babson Park, the Lady Warriors tennis team defeated Northwood University, 5-3. The win improves WIU's record to 5-1 on the season and 4-0 in The Sun Conference.
 
The Lady Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Laura Nowak and Julija Stojkouska won at #1 doubles, 8-5. Winning at #2 doubles was Nathalia Chaddad and Leticia Tomb, 9-8 (4). At # 3 doubles Jeanette Hicks and Holly Parnell won by default.
 
In singles play Nowak won at #1 singles 6-0, 6-2. Parnell won at #6 singles by default, as Northwood traveled with only 5 players. Hicks did not get to finish her match at #5, due to darkness.
 
The Lady Warriors are in Kissimmee on Monday, at Star Island Resort, for a 3:00 p.m. match with NCAA-I, Mount St. Mary's (MD).
