Lady Warriors Rough Streak Continues

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. -  The Lady Warriors traveled to Lakeland, Florida, on January 7th to take on Southeastern University's Lady Fire in a conference match just one day after falling to conference opponent Ave Maria University. The Lady Warriors started the first half slow and went into the locker-room at half time trailing the Lady Fire, 30-40.

In the second half of the game the Lady Warriors came out strong and outscored the Lady Fire 41-40 but was not enough to give the Lady Warriors a much needed win. The Lady Fire won the game with a final score of 80-71 continuing the Lady Warriors rough streak.

Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were Sarah Dileonardo, Erin Henry, Kala Alicea, and Ciara Cox. Sarah Dileonardo received her first double double for the year scoring 17 points and getting 17 rebounds. Erin Henry scored 15 points, a rebound, and 2 assists. Kala Alicea scored 13 points and a rebound. Ciara Cox scored 10 points, 3 rebounds and an assist.

Leading the Lady Fire on the court were Ciara Carter and Ashley Wilson. Ciara Carter scored 28 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist.  Ashley Wilson also received a double double in the game scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds and also had 6 assists.

The Lady Warriors record falls to 1-14 overall and 0-2 in The Sun Conference and the Lady Fire improved their record to 4-9 overall and 1-1 in The Sun Conference.

The Lady Warriors return to action on January 13, 2012 as they host conference opponent St. Thomas with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
