Webber Women’s Tennis Bounces Back With Big Win

Orlando, Fla. – After suffering a jarring defeat on Monday, the Lady Warriors tennis team bounced back with a convincing win over Aquinas College (MI), 7-2. The WIU women's tennis team played Aquinas at the Lake Cane Tennis Center, in Orlando, and played solid in singles and doubles.
The #2 doubles team of Nathalia Chaddad and Leticia Tomb got WIU off to a good start by winning their match, 8-5. Anna Culaba and Jeanette Hicks followed with an 8-5 victory at #3 doubles. The #1 team lost 9-7, giving the Lady Warriors a 2-1 lead.
Winners in singles for Webber were: #1 – Laura Nowak – 6-4, 6-2; #2 – Nathalia Chaddad – 6-0, 6-2; #3 Helen Perry – 6-4, 6-7, 10-7; #5 – Anna Culaba – 6-4  , 6-2; and #6 – Jeanette Hicks – 6-4, 6-2.
With the win Webber International improves to 8-2 overall on the season. The Lady Warriors will be in action on Wednesday night at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee. They will be playing Saginaw Valley State University (MI), a NCAA – II opponent, at 6:30 p.m.
