Babson Park, Fla. – The Webber International University women's tennis team defeated Davenport University (MI), 5-4, in a Marathon Match.  The match started at 2:00 p.m. and was finished at 8:15 p.m. which was 6 hours and 15 minutes later.

The Warriors got off to a slow start as they dropped 2 of the 3 doubles matches trailing Davenport University, 2-1. Winning at # 3 doubles was Anna Culaba and Jeanette Hicks, 8-3.

In singles the Warriors rallied to win the heart stopping close match, 5-4. Winning singles for the Lady Warriors were #2 Laura Nowak, 6-0, 6-2; #5 Anna Culaba, 6-2, 6-4; #6 Jeanette Hicks, 6-2, 6-1; and #4 Leticia Tomb, won the final point for the Warriors 7-6(2), 4-6, 7-5.

The Warriors return to action as they host ABAC on Wednesday, February 23, at 1:30 p.m. on the WIU Campus Courts. Spectators are welcome and admission is free. The win over Davenport University improves WIU's record to 4-1.
