Warriors Say Farewell to Seniors with Win Over Builders, 51-6

Babson Park, Fla. –The Webber International University Warriors ended their season celebrating Senior Day with a 51-6 win over the Newport News Apprentice Builders.

The first half of the game was controlled by the Warriors as they posted 35 points and held the Builders to 0 points. Chris Hart put the first points on the board for the Warriors as he rushed for a 30 yard touchdown with 5:25 left in the first quarter. Erik McQueen scored on the next Warrior possession with a 9 yard run with 14:26 left in the second quarter. With 10:02 left in the second quarter Jamal Rodman caught a 5 yard pass from Chris Hart giving the Warriors a 21-0 lead. The Warrior defense held the Builders to a three and out forcing a punt that Ricky Carlson returned 75 yards putting the Warriors on the Builders 13 yard line. On the next play, Chris Hart then rushed 13 yards for another Warrior touchdown. With 37 seconds left in the first half Chris Hart connected with Roman Nelson for a 5 yard touchdown reception sending both teams into half time. (Warriors 35 - Builders 0).

The second half the Warriors kept the pressure up as they scored first with 9 minutes left in the third quarter. Chris Hart connected with Brayum Andrews for a 15 yard touchdown giving the Warriors a 42-0 lead. With 8:32 left in the game the Builders put their only points on the board with a 53 yard rushing touchdown from Charles Broadus, 42-6. The Warriors then scored again with 8:19 left in the game on a 40 yard pass from Chris Hart to Conner Louis. The last points came from Hunter Ovens as he made a 49 yard field goal ending the game 51-6.

Leading the Warriors on offence was Chris Hart as he rushed 16 times gaining 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hart also passed 21 times completing 11 while gaining 149 yards and 4 touchdowns through the air.

Leaders for the Warriors on defense were ; #42 Nate Keller with 5 solo tackles 6 assists 2 sacks for 15 yards and forced 2 fumbles; #90 Jamael Autry with 5 solo tackles 2 assists and 4 tackles for 10 yards.

The Warriors finished their season with a record of 4-6 and the Builders record falls to 2-8.
