Babson Park, Fla. – On Wednesday, at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee, the Walsh University (OH) women's tennis team defeated Webber International University, 6-3, stopping the Lady Warriors winning streak at 4. With the loss the Warriors drop to 5-4 on the season.
Webber picked up one point in the doubles as their #1 team of Lauren Brink and Kammie Bilardello pulled out a 9-8 victory, winning the tie-breaker 8-6.
In singles the Lady Warriors were only able to pick up two wins. Brink won at #1, 6-1, 6-2 and Anna Culaba won at #4, 6-1, 1-6, 10-4.
“This was a very important NAIA match, but Walsh was pretty solid all the way through their line-up and we simply could not compete with them in the bottom matches,” stated WIU Head Coach,
Bill Heath.
The Lady Warriors will be in action on Sunday, March 7th, in Altamonte Springs at Sandlando Park. WIU will take on Wesleyan University (CT) at 5 p.m.
