Webber Women’s Tennis Wins Close One

Babson Park, Fla. – The Webber International women's tennis team defeated Bethel University, 5-4, on Saturday at Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando.
 
This was the second win in a row for the Lady Warriors, improving their record to 7-5. This was, also the fourth match, this season, that WIU has won5-4, by taking the last match still in progress.
 
“These ladies are stressing me out, but it is amazing that all four times we have been in this situation, the last girl playing has pulled out the win,” stated Coach Bill Heath.
 
“I don't believe this many last person playing 5-4 wins have ever occurred in my entire career,” added Heath.
 
Winning in singles for the Warriors were: Lauren Brink 6-1, 6-1; #2 Kammie Billardello 3-6, 6-3, 6-4; and #3 Anna Culaba 6-1, 6-0.
 
Doubles winners were: #1 Brink and Bilardello 9-8 (3); #3 Helen Perry and Jeanette Hicks 8-6.

The Lady Warriors next match is at the Auburndale City Courts on Tuesday, March 16th, at 5:30p.m. They will play 20th ranked Oklahoma Baptist University.
