Babson Park, Fla. – The Webber International women's tennis team lost to St. Thomas University, in Miami Gardens, 6-3, on Friday.

The Lady Warriors fell behind 2-1 after the completion of the doubles. Zulema Robles and Anna Culaba pulled out the win at number three doubles, 9-8, winning the tiebreaker at 7-4. They were down 7-3 before they made their comeback.

Lauren Brink, freshman from Germany, had a very good win at #1 singles taking the match, 6-4, 6-2. Webber got their other point at #5 singles as Anna Culaba won 6-0, 2-6, 10-4.

The Lady Warriors are now 1-2 on the season, over and in the conference.

“Our women's team is much better this year and more competitive and I'm looking forward to seeing our improvement as the season progresses,” stated Coach Bill Heath.
