Melbourne, Fla. – Lady Warriors lost 67-81 in their first exhibition game of the season to Florida Tech on November 8, 2010.

Webber International University women's basketball overall record is 0-1 and The Sun Conference record is 0-0.

The Lady Warriors trailed after the first half 26-36, and in the second half 41-45.

Webber had 32 points in the paint to 42 by Florida Tech, and WIU had 21 points off FT's turnovers, to 33 points by FT from WIU's turnovers. In basketball the second chance points are very important; our Lady Warriors had 11 to 17 by the Lady Panthers. Lady Panthers also had 4 fast break points to Warriors 0. WIU's bench had 10 points to FIU's 20.

Webber International had 32 total rebounds, 2-5 3-point shots, 7 assists, 6 steals, Webber were shooting 48.0% from the field, and WIU had a 65.4% free throws percentage. The leader for the Warriors was Nikki King.

Miss King had a double-double with 14 rebounds and 27 points, she also had 2 assists, and a steal, but that was not enough to overpower a Division II Florida Tech.

A leader for Florida Tech was Kristen Dixon. She had 23 points, a rebound, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. That was enough to steal a win from Lady Warriors.

Lady Warriors will play Florida Atlantic University in another exhibition game away on November 12, 2010 at noon.
