Warriors Fall to Carolina University at Home

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University men's soccer team fell to Carolina University, 4-1, Thursday afternoon at Webber Grass Field.

The Warriors came out aggressively, recording 15 shots in the opening half and four corner kicks while putting six shots on target. Carolina, however, found the back of the net twice in the opening six minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Carolina added another goal early in the second half on a penalty kick to extend its advantage to 3-0.

Webber continued to battle and found its breakthrough in the 71st minute when Seth James-Feder scored his first goal of the season to put the Warriors on the board.

Carolina responded less than five minutes later with another goal to make it 4-1, which would stand as the final score.

Webber finished the match with a 22-15 advantage in total shots and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Rodnny González led the Warriors with six shots, including four on target, while Seth James-Feder added two shots and scored Webber's lone goal.

Goalkeeper Alvaro Garcia played all 90 minutes and recorded seven saves.

With the result, Webber moves to 2-2-1 on the season, while Carolina improves to 4-1.

UP NEXT

The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, September 15, when they travel to face Florida College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
