Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Soccer team opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion Thursday afternoon, cruising to a 5–0 shutout victory over
Brewton-Parker at Warrior Grass Field. The Warriors scored once in the opening half before exploding for four second-half goals to secure the convincing season-opening win and improve to 1–0 on the young season.
How it happened
- 14:53 — Rodnny Gonzalez opened the scoring from the penalty spot, converting a penalty kick to give Webber a 1–0 lead.
- 68:59 — Brandon Apon doubled the advantage, finding the back of the net off a corner kick from Felipe Villa Rosa to make it 2–0.
- 74:15 — Justin Ruiz continued the second-half surge, finishing a chance assisted by Dylan Salomon to push the lead to 3–0.
- 77:11 — Gonzalez struck again, scoring his second goal of the afternoon with an assist from Jack Chalmers to make it 4–0.
- 89:37 — Webber capped the scoring when a Brewton-Parker own goal completed the 5–0 final.

The Warriors' defense delivered a clean-sheet performance in the season opener.
Alvaro Becerril Garcia played the opening 45 minutes and recorded one save, while
Alejandro Moreno played the second half without allowing a goal. Together, the Webber goalkeepers helped secure the shutout as Brewton-Parker managed just one shot on goal.
