Babson Park, FL – The 12th ranked Webber International team rolled past 11th ranked Southeastern 18-8 in eight innings on Thursday evening in Babson Park, using a huge early surge and steady offensive pressure to take control of the conference matchup. The Warriors scored in five different innings, including a seven-run third, and finished with 18 runs on 18 hits. With the SUN Conference win, the Warriors extended their winning streak to 17 games.
Webber struck first with a three-run opening frame, then added two more in the second to build a 5-0 cushion. After Southeastern answered with three runs in the top of the third, the Warriors immediately broke the game open in the bottom half. Mike Cuello came home on an Austen Jaslove RBI single, Keegan Martin followed later in the inning with a two-run single to center, and Webber kept piling on to take firm command.
The Warriors kept the pressure on in the sixth. Ty Mathews scored on a wild pitch during Jalen Martinez's RBI walk, and Jaslove followed by blasting a two-run homer to left to stretch the lead even further. Webber added three more in the eighth, highlighted by Martin's RBI double to right-center and another run that scored on a wild pitch.
Martin turned in a big night at the plate, driving in five runs with a two-run homer, two-run single and an RBI double. Jaslove also produced three RBIs, including the two-run home run in the sixth, while Webber's lineup consistently delivered traffic and timely hits throughout the game. The Warriors' offense overwhelmed Southeastern pitching, which was charged with 18 runs on 18 hits over 7.2 innings.
Southeastern scored three runs in the third, three more in the fifth, and two in the eighth, but Webber's explosive offensive output never let the visitors get back within striking distance. The Warriors' 18-8 win capped a dominant showing at the plate from start to finish.
