Warriors Win 16th Straight, 4th Straight SUN Sweep over Bobcats

Babson Park, FL — The Webber International Baseball team completed a doubleheader sweep of St. Thomas on Saturday, taking game one 11-4 before following with a 10-2 win in the nightcap. The Warriors piled up 21 runs across the two games and got contributions throughout the lineup while protecting home field in Sun Conference play. The doubleheader sweep today was the 4th straight conference sweep for the Warriors and their 16th straight victory.

In the opener, Webber set the tone early with two runs in the first and three more in the second to seize control. The Warriors added two in the fourth, two in the seventh, and two more in the eighth on the way to the 11-4 victory. Webber's offense was led by Ty Mathews, who went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs, while Will Gisriel also drove in two runs. Austen Jaslove brought home two runs, Steven Nitch had three, and Tugg Hollansworth added another, as the Warriors took advantage of traffic on the bases all afternoon to steadily extend the lead. On the mound, Austin Dobbins started and helped Webber keep St. Thomas from mounting a late comeback.

Webber stayed hot in game two, answering St. Thomas' first-inning run with one of its own in the bottom half before putting the game away with three runs in the second and three more in the third. The Warriors added single runs in the fourth, sixth, and eighth to finish off the 10-2 win. Keegan Martin sparked the offense, while Mike Cuello, Skyler Schulz, and Fabian Amaro all played key roles in the scoring surge. Webber finished with 13 hits in the second game, and Trevor Carter gave the Warriors a strong start on the mound as Webber completed the sweep.
