Warriors Drop Series to Bruins

Babson Park, FL — The Webber International Baseball team fell to Bellevue 14-1 on Saturday at Warrior Field, as the Bruins used 14 hits and four home runs to pull away after Webber briefly answered in the third inning.

Bellevue struck first with two runs in the opening inning, then steadily added on with single runs in the fifth and eighth, two in the sixth, three in the seventh and five more in the ninth. Webber's lone run came in the bottom of the third when Steven Nitch went deep to cut the deficit to 2-1, but that was as close as the Warriors would get.

Nitch's homer highlighted the Webber offense, which finished with six hits on the day. Tugg Hollandsworth singled, while Ty Mathews and Jalen Martinez each added hits later in the game as the Warriors tried to generate momentum.

Bellevue was powered by a big day in the middle of the order. Nick Gravel collected four hits and two RBIs, while Carter Claerhout, Ayden Makarus and Dylan Holmes each homered. Xavier Lerma also finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Bruins.

On the mound, Bellevue starter Brayden Andersen earned the win after allowing just one run on three hits over 6.0 innings. Garrett White tossed the 2.0 innings in relief. Ryan Franklin was charged with the loss for Webber, and the Warriors also got relief work from Austin Dobbins, Brandon Vazquez, and Tyler Helton
