Columbia, SC – The 4th ranked Webber International Men's Lacrosse steamrolled to a 19-4 road victory over Columbia (SC) on Sunday afternoon at Younts Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Warriors set the tone early with a seven-goal first quarter. After Columbia briefly tied it at 1-1, Webber rattled off six unanswered to take control, highlighted by three first-period finishes from Jeremiah Loo and a late pair from Nick Sheaffer in the final 1:25 to make it 7-1 after 15 minutes.
Webber kept the pressure on in the second, getting two more goals from Sheaffer in the opening 1:23 of the quarter to build the margin. Columbia found the net twice in the period, but Webber carried a 9-3 lead into halftime.
The third quarter turned into a surge that put the game away as the Warriors erupted for nine goals. Loo struck early, Branden Sheaffer cashed in off a feed from Sam Shields, and Webber added two man-up goals during the run. Nick Sheaffer powered the outburst with multiple finishes in the quarter as Webber took an 18-4 advantage into the fourth.
In the final frame, Benjamin Sheldon added a man-up goal to cap the scoring and close out the 19-4 win.
