St. Petersburg, FL – The Webber International Softball team dropped a pair at Eckerd in a Tuesday doubleheader in St. Petersburg, Fla., falling 5-1 in the opener before the Tritons pulled away for a 21-1, five-inning win in game two.
In the first game, Webber plated its lone run in the second inning as Samantha Hudson came around to score on an Eckerd fielding error. The Warriors threatened throughout—finishing with seven left on base—but were limited to three hits, including a double from Aliyah Bentley. In the circle, Taylor Thomas worked 6.0 innings with six strikeouts, but Eckerd used a decisive four-run fourth to seize control, then added an insurance run in the fifth. Eckerd's B.
