#8 Baseball Opens Season Against Thomas Friday Afternoon

1/30/2026 10:34:00 AM

Babson Park, FL – The 8th ranked Webber International Baseball team opens the 2026 campaign this weekend with a three-game set against Thomas University. The Warriors look to improve upon their 2025 season and secure back-to-back spots in Lewiston, Idaho for the AVISTA NAIA College World Series.

Webber will face off against the Nighthawks to start the season for the second year in a row. The teams will play in a doubleheader Friday afternoon and finish off with one game on Saturday. While the Warrior lineup will look different this year, there are still a few familiar faces that fans will recognize. 2026 SUN Conference Player to Watch Steven Nitch returns to the lineup, where he will continue to hit the cover off of baseballs look to lead the Warriors both on and off the field. Rawlings Gold Glover Jalen Martinez also returns to Babson Park where he will continue to be a wizard in the outfield with a rocket for an arm.

Some newcomers for the Warriors include SUN Conference Pitcher to Watch Caleb Fones, who comes to the Warriors from Southern Union, where the Lefty featured, punching out 52 batters. Austen Jaslove transferred into Babson Park after a stint at NCAA D1 Austin Peay, and he should have an immediate impact both in the infield and at the plate.

Opening Day is the start of another long season for the Warriors so make sure to come out and support!
