Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Soccer team couldn't find the finishing touch in a physical SUN Conference tilt on Saturday afternoon, falling 2–0 to SCAD Savannah at home. The Bees struck in the 13th minute through Ida Akesson and doubled their advantage just before the hour via Mia Nelson, while the Warriors were limited to three total shots.
After a bright defensive start that included early stops by goalkeeper Francesca Magnotti, SCAD broke through at 12:36 when Akesson converted the game's first goal. Webber's best look of the opening half came from Ariana Suarez in the 15th minute, pushing wide, as the Warriors were flagged offside three times while trying to stretch the back line.
The Warriors settled in after halftime, Tatum Moore rattled the crossbar in the 71st minute and Thea Roque drove a shot wide minutes earlier—but Nelson's 58th-minute finish gave SCAD the breathing room it needed. Magnotti kept Webber within reach with six saves (three in each half). Morgan Myers received a caution in the 51st minute during a combative midfield spell.
By the numbers (WIU first): Shots 3–14; Shots on Goal 0–8; Corners 0–5; Offsides 3–4; Saves 6–0; Cards 1–0. WIU shot leaders: Moore, Roque, Suarez (1 each). Scoring: SCAD—Akesson 12:36; Nelson 57:57. GK: WIU—Magnotti (90:00, 6 SV); SCAD—Bryntesson (90:00, 0 SV).
