Miami Gardens, FL – The Webber International Women's Soccer team battled to a 0–0 draw at Florida Memorial on Wednesday morning in Miami Gardens, riding a standout penalty save from goalkeeper Karen Torfadottir and a disciplined back line. Torfadottir finished with six saves—including a kick-stop on a 41:36 first-half penalty—to secure her second clean sheet of the season.
The Warriors controlled long stretches of the first half, generating four shots on frame. Melissa Del Valle tested the keeper just 30 seconds in, Pia Grosse forced a diving save in the 6th minute off Webber's lone corner, and midfielder Ariana Suarez put two more on target late in the half. Florida Memorial's best chance before the break came on that penalty, but Torfadottir guessed right and smothered the rebound to send the teams to halftime level.
Second-half emotions flared and the match tilted back and forth. FMU went down to 10 players in the 63rd minute when Jada Samuels was sent off after a second yellow, but the Lions still rattled the woodwork twice in a 60-second flurry (65:26, 65:30). Webber kept probing—Olof Sigurdardottir dragged a shot wide left (67:47), Morgan Myers flashed one past the right post (77:51), and Thea Roque sent a late effort high (86:20). The numbers evened to 10v10 in the 83rd minute when Del Valle saw red, and Torfadottir sealed the point with a low save in the 90th minute.
