Warriors Outlast Conquistadors in Five-Set Road Victory

Hialeah, FL – The Webber International Women's Volleyball team outlasted Florida National in a five-set road thriller, shaking off a rocky opener and finding its rhythm behind steadier serve-receive and a balanced attack. The Warriors improved to 3–13 while the Conquistadors slipped to 6–10, with momentum swings defining a match that stretched past two hours.

After dropping the first set 15–25, Webber flipped the script in the second by tightening up first-ball touches and feeding the pins in transition. Libero Alejandra Aponte steadied the back row, setter Lucianna Marinella spread the offense, and the Warriors' sideout game held just long enough to square the match with a 25–22 response.

Set three turned into a deuce duel. FNU eked out a 27–25 win thanks to late blocking and a couple of high-hands swings, but Webber answered in the fourth with its most composed frame of the night. Timely blocks and low-error swings kept the Conquistadors chasing as the Warriors forced a decisive fifth with another 25–22 result.

In the tiebreak, Webber's poise showed. The Warriors jumped ahead early, passed in system, and converted first-tempo looks to maintain cushion to the finish, closing 15–10. Marinella's serving run in the middle stanza and clean sideout execution down the stretch were the difference.

Statistically, Kaylee Hunt powered Webber with 20 kills and 9 digs (.186), Kalyn Morgan added 9 kills and 11 digs, Marinella tallied 34 assists and 16 digs with 3 aces, Aponte dug 23 balls, and Anna Morton led the net with 4.0 blocks. Team totals: 57 kills (.173), 79 digs, 8 aces, and 7.0 blocks. FNU was led by Chriselle Ferdinand (18 kills, .421, 4.0 blocks), Ariana Long (15 kills, 18 digs, 2 aces), and Kitula Amaya Morales (12 kills, 23 digs), with Ivette Sandoval and Taysha Ortega combining for 49 assists.
