Warriors Outlast Royals in 5-Set Crooked Lake Clash

Lake Wales, FL — Webber International Women's Volleyball outlasted crosstown rival Warner in a five-set classic on Wednesday night, grinding out a 3–2 road win (25–22, 22–25, 25–21, 28–30, 15–11).

After splitting the first two frames, the Warriors reclaimed control behind steady side-out volleyball in the third, closing 25–21 to go up 2–1. Warner forced a decider with an extended 30–28 fourth set, but Webber answered with poise in the fifth. Leading 12–11, the Warriors slammed the door with a 3–0 finishing burst—Raeann Savage's kill, a clutch ace from Kalyn Morgan, and a Hailey Mull putaway—to seal it 15–11.

Kaylee Hunt posted a gritty double-double to pace Webber, tallying 13 kills and 28 digs, while Savage added 10 kills on an efficient .292 hitting clip. Mull chipped in eight kills, and middle Anna Morton contributed six kills at .417 with a team-best 2.0 blocks. In the back row, Alejandra Aponte was a difference-maker all night, piling up a match-high 41 digs to steady the Warriors' defense.

Webber's setting corps shared the load: Lucianna Marinella (18 assists, 11 digs) notched a double-double, with support from Abigail Leonard (13 assists) and Alanys Rodriguez (10 assists). From the service line, Morgan's four aces highlighted the Warriors' nine overall, helping offset a tough serving night (16 SE).

Team-wise, Webber hit .135 (52K–26E–193TA) and out-dug Warner 107–103. The Royals countered with 55 kills and 10.0 total blocks, but the Warriors' serve-receive and fifth-set execution made the late difference.
