Sarasota, FL – The Webber International Softball team traveled to Sarasota to take on the New College of Florida Mighty Banyans in a SUN Conference Series. The Warriors swept the Mighty Banyans displaying dominance as they continue their trek towards the conference tournament.
Game 1: Webber International 6, New College of Florida 1 Webber International jumped out to an early lead with a two-run single by S. Hudson in the second inning. They continued adding pressure with timely hitting, capitalizing on New College miscues. New College managed to push across their lone run in the fifth inning off an RBI single from S. Suarez, but Webber's pitching and defense stifled any further comeback attempts. J. Cummings sealed the victory with a two-run double in the seventh.
Game 2: Webber International 8, New College of Florida 1 New College struck first, scoring early off an error in the first inning, but their lead was short-lived. J. Bland responded swiftly with a solo home run in the second. A productive fourth inning saw Webber scoring three runs, highlighted by a two-RBI single from H. Bellamy. Webber padded their lead with three more runs in the sixth, showcasing their offensive depth. Webber's strong pitching kept New College silent after their initial run.
Game 3: Webber International 4, New College of Florida 0 Webber completed the sweep behind a stellar pitching performance, shutting out New College in the final game. The game remained tight until the fourth inning when K. Bright broke the deadlock with an RBI single. J. Bland provided insurance runs with a solo homer in the sixth and a double leading to a run in the seventh, and J. Cummings capped the scoring with an RBI single. Webber's defense held firm, limiting scoring opportunities for New College, securing a clean sweep of the series.
