Men's Lacrosse Earn Multiple Recognitions from AAC

Marrietta, GA – The 2nd Ranked Webber International Men's Lacrosse team has been honored with multiple awards from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Webber took home four of the specialty awards while also having six athletes on the All-Conference teams.

Senior Attacker Nick Sheaffer was named the Conference Player and Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Sheaffer set a career high with 56 goals, 19 assists, and 75 points enroute to the Warriors sharing the AAC Regular Season Title and the #1 seed in the AAC Tournament.

Senior Defender Greyson Davidson was named the Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Davidson set a new career high in ground balls with 46 and caused turnovers with 49, while anchoring a Warrior defense that only gave up 51 conference goals.

Head Coach Chris Burdick was named the AAC Coach of the Year, but would like to honor his assistants by sharing the award with them, becoming the AAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Burdick, Chase Jackson, Steven Landsman, Joshua Cargile, and Malcolm McGrath helped lead the Warriors to the first #1 ranking in program history.

Along with Sheaffer and Davidson on the AAC All-Conference First Team, was Junior Goalie Liam Murphy. Murphy had 50 saves in goal this season, where he started 12 out of 14. In games where he was the deciding goalie, Murphy was 8-0.

The AAC All-Conference Second team featured Junior Attacker Jeremiah Loo, Senior Long Stick Midfielder Tay'Quan Bryan, and Senior Defender Raja Brooks. Loo was the second punch to Sheaffer's first, scoring 48 times for the Warriors while also assisting 17 more goals. Bryan played a pivotal role in the midfield, causing 18 turnovers while picking up 32 ground balls, and scoring four times. Brooks doubled his career highs for caused turnovers and ground balls.

The Warriors will now await their seeding in the NAIA National Tournament which is slated to take place in Savannah, Georgia.
