Warriors Fall in AAC Clash with Bees

Babson Park, FL – The 9th ranked Webber International Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 14-10 Appalachian Athletic Conference decision to SCAD Savannah on Thursday afternoon in Babson Park. SCAD jumped out early with six first-quarter goals and held off a Warrior rally over the final three periods.

SCAD controlled the opening quarter, scoring twice in the first 2:30 and building a 6-0 lead by the 6:22 mark. Webber found its footing in the second period, beginning with Nick Sheaffer's extra-man goal at 13:39. Ethan Baker added a goal less than three minutes later, and Isaiah Espaillat scored at 4:41 to help Webber cut into the deficit, but SCAD answered throughout the quarter to take a 9-4 lead into halftime.

The Warriors continued to push in the third. Sheaffer scored early in the period, Sam Shields followed with a goal at 11:03, and Sheaffer struck again with 34 seconds remaining to keep Webber within reach at 12-7 heading to the fourth. Webber added fourth-quarter goals from Dane Angelillis, Sheaffer, and Jeremiah Loo, but SCAD answered with two late scores to seal the result.

Sheaffer led the Warriors offensively with five goals on 16 shots, while Loo posted one goal and three assists. Baker contributed one goal and two assists, and Israel Miranda was strong at the faceoff X, winning 19 of 26 draws while collecting a game-high 13 ground balls. Angelillis added a goal and four caused turnovers for Webber, which finished with a 19-8 edge in faceoffs and a 25-13 advantage in ground balls.

For SCAD Savannah, Jonathan O'Bryant Graves paced the attack with four goals and four assists, while Sebastian Manuel added three goals and five assists. Mason Hickman also scored three times for the visitors. Keaton Melcher made 16 saves for SCAD, while Liam Murphy stopped seven shots in 36:41 before Colton Renkiewicz recorded six saves in relief.
