Softball Honors Seniors with 3 Game Series Against Keiser

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Softball team hosted the Keiser Seahawks for Senior Weekend at Nancy Nichols Field on Friday and Saturday. The Warriors honored multiple seniors, but were unable to pull out a win, falling in a 3-0 sweep to the Seahawks.

In the series opener, Keiser took an early lead in the third inning with an RBI double by K. Ganci, followed by another RBI double by B. Dunham. The Seahawks added three more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from C. Czajkowsk. Keiser added a final run in the sixth, securing a decisive 6-0 victory. Webber International struggled offensively, unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities despite collecting four hits.

The second game began promisingly for Webber International, who took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to an error by Keiser. However, Keiser responded with two runs in the fourth inning, initiated by G. Iglesias scoring on a sacrifice fly and a subsequent unearned run following an error by Webber. Keiser expanded their lead with a four-run fifth inning, driven by timely hitting and effective baserunning. Webber managed to score once more in the sixth inning off a double from K. Bright but ultimately fell short, losing 6-2.

In the final game, Keiser again started strong with a run in the second inning from a double by C. Czajkowsk. Webber tied it at 1-1 in the fourth with an RBI single by K. Bright. Keiser quickly retook control in the fifth inning, scoring four runs on four hits, including doubles by L. Small and M. Schaaf, and capitalizing on a Webber error. Webber rallied in the seventh with an RBI single from G. Kidwell but fell short as Keiser completed the sweep with a 5-2 victory.

Keiser's pitching and defense effectively contained Webber's offense throughout the series, while timely hitting secured the Seahawks' series sweep.
