Miami Gardens, FL – The Webber International Baseball team secured a 4-1 victory over St. Thomas in a tightly contested SUN Conference baseball matchup highlighted by strong pitching and timely hitting.
Webber International took an early lead in the third inning when Deven Tedders, pinch-running for Camren Carrol, scored on a sacrifice fly by J'Quann Smith. They extended their lead in the fourth inning with a two-RBI double from Steven Nitch, driving in Jalen Martinez and Ryan Recio to make it 3-0.
In the sixth inning, Webber International's Recio added to their advantage with a solo home run to left field, stretching the lead to 4-0. St. Thomas broke through late in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single by L. Suarez, narrowing the deficit to 4-1. However, Webber International's pitching held firm, shutting down St. Thomas in the final innings.
Strong defensive play and effective pitching performances ensured Webber International held their lead, ultimately sealing a well-earned victory.
