Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Flag Football opened its season against the Life University Running Eagles. Webber International secured a 32-14 victory in a game marked by defensive stops, key turnovers, and explosive plays.
The game started with a slow offensive output from both teams, as Life (Ga.) struggled to move the ball downfield, while Webber International capitalized on defensive pressure. Life (Ga.) managed to take an early 7-6 lead in the second quarter after a 66-yard touchdown pass from Cheyenne Brooks to Altierra Gooch, but Webber International quickly responded. Following an interception by Emma Balacco, Webber International marched down the field, with Samantha Wilson throwing a touchdown to Brea Kamm, giving Webber a 13-7 halftime lead.
Webber International extended their lead early in the fourth quarter as Wilson connected with Kaitlyn Sigmundi for a 29-yard touchdown, increasing the score to 19-7. Life (Ga.) fought back with a late touchdown, as Cheyenne Brooks found Dechea Branham for a 21-yard score, narrowing the deficit to 19-14. However, Webber International sealed the victory with two late touchdowns, including a crucial 24-yard reception by Cheyenne Durand in the final minute.
